Collaborative Family practice is a non-adversarial process which affirms the inherent dignity and values of people. Collaborative practice is a comprehensive process designed to facilitate cost effective lasting resolutions of major life transitions in a way which respects individual interests and values. In the long run, we shape our lives, and we shape ourselves. The process never ends until we die. And the choices we make are ultimately our own responsibility-Eleanor Roosevelt<\/p>\n

Collaborative Practice has three key elements:<\/strong><\/h4>\n

The voluntary and free exchange of information.<\/p>\n

The pledge not to litigate (go to court) and withdrawal of both attorneys and other team professionals if either party litigates.<\/p>\n

A commitment to respect for both parties’ shared goals.<\/p>\n

Collaborative practice focuses on Introspection rather than reaction to shadow drives (concept of Carl Jung) the dark part of our nature (rage, guilt, grief, shame, fear and remorse)<\/p>\n

Future oriented as opposed to the hurt museum of the past.<\/p>\n

Lessens collateral damage to children, extended family and society.<\/p>\n

Increases possibility of effective co parenting<\/p>\n
